OUR MISSION

Our Mission is to promote and protect the rights and interests of persons with mental disorders and their carers, such that they can benefit from a better quality of life through the maximisation of their potential.

The vision of the Office of the Commissioner for the Promotion of Rights of Persons with Mental Disorders is an all-inclusive society, wherein persons with a mental disorder are fully empowered to maximize their health. This will enhance their contribution to the community in all spheres of life including the labour markets and to society at large.

The Office is also actively working on promoting a proactive and preventative approach. Through raising awareness on improved mental wellbeing throughout the lifespan to decrease the burden of mental health problems. The office is committed towards decreasing stigma and risks linked to mental health problems including premature death by suicide.

The Commissioner can receive complaints and queries, investigate alleged breaches of rights, influence legislative proposals and increase awareness of mental health and related issues.

  • To increase the awareness and knowledge of the general public about mental health and persons with mental health disorders.
